Romans 5:8

BUT GOD COMMENDETH HIS LOVE TOWARD US, IN THAT, WHILE WE WERE YET SINNERS, CHRIST DIED FOR US.

God Commendeth

The word commendeth means to show or to prove.  Many people doubt God's love but they do not know what He did to prove to us that he does love us.  We can look at all the bad things that happen to us and to others and deny God's love. Life in this world is not God's ultimate aim for us. eternal life for us is! 

While We were sinners

God did not and does not wait for people to stop sinning to deal with our sin.  If he did wait it would have to be forever because we won't stop sinning. He, because he loves us, took action to bring a penalty against our sin.  What is that Penalty...

Christ Died For Us

The penalty for our sin was paid for by Jesus.  How did he pay it?  By dying.  We learn In the Bible that Jesus became a man in the flesh in order to die a brutal and bloody death to pay the penalty for our sin.  This shows that God is just by paying the deserved penalty for our sin. It also shows that God loves us and has mercy on us by paying for it himself so that we do not have to.
