Romans 14:9

FOR TO THIS END CHRIST BOTH DIED, AND ROSE, AND REVIVED, THAT HE MIGHT BE LORD BOTH OF THE DEAD AND LIVING.

For to This End

There is an ultimate reason that Jesus Christ Did What He did: That the people whom he made might Live their lives with Him as Their Lord.  

Died, rose, And Revived

men who are lords in this world kill their enemies in order to bring more and more people under their control. Jesus Died, Rose, And Revived, that those whom he is lord over are also his friends.

That he Might Be Lord

Once we have trusted Jesus Christ as our Savior it only makes sense to put our lives under his command because he knows what is best for our lives. It is reasonable for us to follow Him because he gave himself for us.  We love him by doing his will which is not harsh or grievous but good.
