Romans 6:4

THEREFORE WE ARE BURIED WITH HIM BY BAPTISM INTO DEATH: THAT LIKE AS CHRIST WAS RAISED UP FROM THE DEAD BY THE GLORY OF THE FATHER, EVEN SO WE ALSO SHOULD WALK IN NEWNESS OF LIFE.

Baptism

Once you have trusted Jesus Christ as our savior you are saved. Heaven is your eventual home and you will not spend one moment in hell. After you are saved the Lord wants you to obey him and identify yourself with him. You do this by willingly being baptized.  Baptism according to the Bible is being fully immersed in water after you have trusted Jesus as your savior. If you are saved you should be baptized as Jesus was.

Christ Was Raised

Baptism is symbolic of the Gospel of Jesus Christ which is that "Jesus Christ Died For Our sins according to the Scriptures, that He was buried and that He rose again the third day according to the scriptures." Baptism is going into the water like death, being put under the water like burial, and coming out of the water, like resurrection. 

Newness of life

The Lord desires us to start a new life after we are saved. We ought to follow the Lord Jesus every day.  We should begin reading His word, praying to him, being part of a Bible-Believing church and gathering with them, and we should confess our sins to the Lord when we do them. when we commit our daily life to the Lord many of the old sins, we will no longer do. We will not enjoy being with those who encourage us to do them. rather we will want them to believe in the Lord as well.  We will be new!
